Look Who's Hatching!

Gere Branch
As part of the Nebraska Extension's Look Who's Hatching program, Gere Library will have incubating eggs on display June 20 through July 13. Stop in to choose names for the eggs, make predictions about what is inside, and observe the eggs as they incubate and hatch. Hatching should start by July 11. The animals will remain on display until July 13.

Storytimes will be held outside Memorial Stadium's Gate 11 entrance at 10:30 am and another at 10:45 am. Around Town Storytimes are geared toward children ages 5 and under, but all ages are welcome.

Chords in Songwriting: The Big Four

This interactive workshop will explore the importance and expressive power of four "simple" chords in songwriting. Drawing on famous musical examples, we'll examine these "big four" chords - individually, and as part of common progressions. We'll explore how songwriters can employ these chords effectively by skillfully integrating them with other song elements such as melody, structure, harmonic rhythm and lyrics. Participants will deepen their understanding of some classic tunes and gain insight into how they might use the big four chords to their fullest potential in creating their own songs.
